you're welcome even if i get the vibe you're probably questioning whether i'm telling the truth or telling you what you want to hear.
[ alas, but bobbi's story is not daisy's to tell. she's learned that lesson already. ]
my friend is with shield. when they're ready, they'll tell you. personally, i'm an open book. easier that way. less to remember, less to screw up trying to keep stories straight. so if you have a question, you're welcome to ask it, captain.
a few things not all of them are easy, exactly, but i hope you'll hear me out
i'm a shield agent my name isn't katelin philips, it's bobbi morse i figure you should know that
i've been maintaining a cover as a civilian scientist ever since i woke up here six months ago. my hope is that by keeping the full extent of who i am and what i can do from people here, i can learn more, maybe have the element of surprise on my side at some point
i'm not sure that whoever brought us here doesn't already know, anyway, but for now, it still seems worth keeping the cover although a few people here know
[ she's sorry to spring this on him when he's already got enough to deal with, but... better to be more or less upfront about this, she figures ]
hey, i'm not judging. my ex was one of those nazi bastards, so i totally get the "once bitten, twice shy" approach.
[ THANKS, WARD ]
maybe. but we do definitely wear windbreakers with the name plastered on the back. plus, when you're dumped a couple centuries into the future without your inhuman party tricks, i guess having to come up with plausible cover stories just isn't worth all the effort. for me, anyway.
and i'm not ashamed of being with shield, either, so i don't feel like i should have to hide it.
[ Huh. Okay. He was as suspicious of her as he is of anyone he's met here, but this is still an unexpected twist. ]
I see.
So why reveal your identity now? Presumably you knew who I was all along.
[ He hasn't bothered to introduce himself as anything other than Steve Rogers, but after five hundred years, that name shouldn't mean anything to anyone. Or so he thought. ]
For the record, I wasn't on board with that. If it were up to me the burden of proof would still be on the government to prove you were shooting earthquakes from your hands with criminal intent.
Nice to meet you, Daisy. If Coulson vouched for you, I'm sure we'll get along.
[ note to self: don't tell captain america about your heavy eyeliner and vigilante justice days, daisy. robbing banks to bankroll your anti-watchdogs vendetta still counts as a crime. ]
i'm going to hold you to that, you know.
[ the getting along thing. you've just promised to be her friend, steve, there's no getting out of it now. ]
but on the topic of records, have you had a chance to look over ours? most of the contact info on there is outdated by now, but the information's still good.
[ rip fitz but the ~superpowers~ section is particularly interesting. ]
the future's version of three iphone-message-in-progress dots (aka user [Bad username or site: daisy @ johnson] is composing a message) hovers for a solid five minutes before new text pops up ]
it means she's not here anymore and we're not totally sure where she went or if she's coming back
